Engagement at ISHP/ COSHAA: Dr. Fung has been working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Building and Construction (now, namely Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering) at City University of Hong Kong since 2004. After completing his OSH certificate (2001) at SCOPE in City University of Hong Kong, he engaged as a Co-opted Member in the COSHAA (CityU SCOPE OSH Alumni Association) and worked as the Chairman of publication and promotion committee for COSHAA at next year. At 2004, he became one of the founded EC members of new inaugurated ISHP. At 2011-13, he has been elected as Vice-Chairman of ISHP (and also Chairman of newly developed R&D committee) and from 2014, he took up the role of Chairman and aimed to restructuring the ISHP under his leadership.
Personal Competence: OSH Research:
In the past 10 years, he was engaged in various teaching and researches on construction project and safety management. The overall funding amount as Principal Investigator is nearly 5 million HK dollars. The funding sources are from UGC, HKSAR, QEF, Education Bureau, CityU internal funding, 1st Hong Kong Scotland Partners in Post-Doctoral Research Award, etc. Now, his major research is about mobile apps on Construction Safety and Risk Assessment, Safety Applications in BIM for High-rise Building Construction, Resilience Engineering in Mega Projects, etc. The no. of publications included international refereed journal and conference papers are more than 60 with overall citations are over 600 (for only 25 selected journals).
